Jennifer Connelly at the Louis Vuitton FW 2015 runway show: With pretty red lips and Ali MacGraw-esque center-parted, shiny hair, Jennifer Connelly has the effortlessly polished thing down pat. Her high-low beautymix would fit right in at an elegant wedding brunch or afternoon nuptials in the countryside. Note that her hair — shiny but not stick straight — has the perfect amount of body, and would look just as good if the wind were to muss it up a bit. Also worth mentioning: Her lip color has a tinge of pink in it, which brightens her fair complexion and adds an element of playfulness to the look.

Shailene Woodley at the world premiere of Insurgent: This tomboy-leaning actress is never one to load on the makeup, so she provides perfect inspiration for those of you who prefer the natural look. (She's also a great poster girl for short hair!) To take your wedding-day beauty look up a notch, apply tinted moisturizer to create an even-toned, dewy finish. Frame your face with groomed, filled-in eyebrows, and draw a thin line of liquid eyeliner extremely close to your upper lash line (almost on top of it). Apply taupe eye shadow and a few individual fake eyelashes, warm up your complexion with peach blush, and finish with a swipe of dusty rose lip gloss.

Kerry Washington at the 32nd annual PaleyFest: There are two key factors that make Kerry's look perfect for a black-tie wedding: wine lipstick and lots of eyelashes. (Everything else — a soft updo, groomed brows, shimmery eye shadow, and bronzer — are subtle details that ensure a polished finish.) Want to try it yourself? We suggest applying plenty of different-sized individual lashes and finishing with two coats of lengthening mascara.
